An apartment that is reminiscent of a study in white is shown here… The color white serves as the defining characteristic of this dwelling, which is conceptually abstract and geometrically simple. Applying the tenets of the simple process of whitewashing (lime paint is a low-cost type of paint made from slaked lime and has lost its popularity to more lasting paint and surface-finish options), the architect shrouds the entire apartment in white, creating an illusory effect that camouflages services and promotes in its wake, a serenity that is almost sterile. The field of design relies heavily on color psychology. Essentially, it is a visual language that is understood by everyone on a global scale. Additionally, when seen from a positive perspective, it conveys openness, grandeur, purity, and neutrality all at the same time. As a result of the furniture pieces concealing building “accidents” and intrusions and integrating current technology services inside them to increase thermal insulation and acoustics, the furniture, which is entirely white, merges in perfectly with the surfaces that have been whitewashed. A clutter-free program emerges into the arrangement of a two-bedroom apartment with an island kitchen, dining, and flexible living area. Fran Silvestre Architects is known for their minimalist design style, which is another one of their distinctive defining characteristics.
