Since I am on a list to also get feng shui articles produced by others, I often get sent feng shui articles written by others since I am an occasional contributing contributor to a few of well-known websites. The majority of the time, sadly, the articles have been written by a beginner who is well-intentioned but misinformed, and they continue to spread feng shui fallacies. Additionally, there are times when the articles have been produced by individuals who are just attempting to sell pointless items under the guise of feng shui. How can one differentiate between reality and fiction? How is the layperson expected to tell the difference between something that is true and verifiable and something that is just an old wives’ tale? Naturally, I Consider Myself to Be One Trustworthy Source, Both Through My Published Materials And This Ongoing Newsletter. Questions are always appreciated, and they often become interesting subjects for the newsletter, which others may read and learn from. This email will discuss two of the most persistent feng shui concepts, one of which is accurate and the other of which is not. The misconception that it is unfortunate to have the number 4 in your address is one that is repeated often and contributes to the spread of the incorrect idea. Just the month before, I received an email from someone who wanted to know whether they could increase the feng shui numerology of their actual location by just adding an additional number. Of the practice of numerology, a whole different kind of prophetic art, the sum of the digits in an address is taken into account. I’m not bashing numerology either, by the way. In point of fact, when I went back to using my maiden name of diamond 13 years ago, I talked with a western pythagorean numerologist on the significance of my name. However, according to the legend surrounding Feng Shui, the reason the number 4 has such a poor reputation is solely due to the fact that the word itself has a sound that is extremely close to the Chinese term for death. There is no correlation between having the number 4 in your address, as I have, and having excellent feng shui in your home. I have a number 4 in my address. Another widely held notion in feng shui is that a front entrance and a rear door should never be in a line that is perpendicular to one another. This one is really authentic, guys! The idea behind this is that any energy that comes in through the front entrance may easily exit via the rear door in an excessively short amount of time. As a direct consequence of this, the residents have a more difficult time putting money away. The idea that the flow of energy through a home might be interpreted as a sign of good fortune in one’s financial affairs is really highly thought-provoking. However, a home should not be rejected just on the basis of this one specific architectural problem by itself. In point of fact, this is one of the most straightforward errors to correct. In this issue of the newsletter, you will see a photograph demonstrating how one of my customers tastefully erected a “obstacle” in her entrance. The table, together with the objects that are displayed on it, creates an aesthetically pleasing and inviting barrier between the rear window and the front entrance.
