In previous articles and in several of my books, I have discussed some feng shui conditions that have the potential to effect fertility. In these discussions, the role of the woman has been assumed and emphasized. On the other hand, there are activities that a guy may engage in to boost his own fertility. According to the principles taught by the east-west school of Feng Shui, each individual has favorable and unfavorable personal directions that are determined by their own kua. This is sometimes referred to as a personal trigram, and it is calculated using the year that you were born. I break down, in the Feng Shui grid, what each of the eight main directions represents for each individual trigram. One individual may see a certain path in life as good while another may view it in a negative light. It is generally accepted that a woman is more likely to have a child if she sleeps with her head pointed in the direction that corresponds to the trigram that represents her individual identity. The personal trigram direction is always connected with unwinding and chilling down. It is noteworthy to note that according to this theory, it is believed that it will be simpler for a woman to get pregnant if she sleeps in the position that allows her to relax the most. For instance, a lady who was born in 1983 has the dui trigram, which is related to the western direction. It is possible that she will have a greater chance of becoming pregnant if she sleeps with her head facing west. This is only one of a half-dozen various approaches that may assist. It is a very different story for a guy. Every individual, regardless of gender, has a unique path that they should follow in order to maximize their chances of material success. Moreover, a guy may increase his chances of fathering children by sleeping with his head oriented in the direction that brings him the most financial success. When I found out this, I thought it was strange and funny because having children is a must for a guy to be considered affluent. I felt this to be an unusual and hilarious notion. Although it is a well-established fact that men who are the fathers of a large number of children do not necessarily have a high net worth, the fact that these men are able to have so many offspring is sometimes seen as a sign of a different kind of financial success. I once met a highly successful businessman who lit up with joy whenever he discussed the impending birth of his fourth kid with his colleagues and friends. In fact, he said that he did not have any concerns about his financial situation since he believed that he had increased his level of accomplishment with each new kid. Having a mentality like that is unquestionably beneficial! It is important to keep in mind that the first day of any given year according to the Chinese solar calendar starts on February 4th, and not on January 1st, when calculating the personal trigram birth charts for that year. For instance, according to the trigram calendar, a guy is truly a year older if he was born on the first, second, or third of January or February in any given year. This holds true regardless of the year. It is important to note that while February 4th marks the midpoint between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, it should not be mistaken with the chinese lunar calendar, which shifts several weeks from one year to the next. For example, a guy who was born in January of 1957 is still deemed to have been born in 1956. Alternatively, a guy who was born on February 3rd of the year 1961 would be deemed to have been born in the year 1960.
