This weekend retreat, which was designed by SM Studio and is located in the steep terrain of Lonavala, where there are expansive areas of lush greenery, successfully blurs the borders between the interior and the outdoors. The architectural form and the landscape are created to represent the tranquil expanses of nature that are located in the surrounding area, so blending the interiors with the exteriors of the contemporary residence that is situated against a pleasant visual background. The home is flooded with an abundance of natural light thanks to the openness of the built form, which is achieved through full-height sliding windows. Additionally, two sides of the home that face open spaces frame views of the surrounding landscape courtesy of the extension of living spaces to balconies and decks. The building creates a play with the aspect of three-dimensional space and shape, with the living and dining room that is double-height being the main point of the house. The double-height, which was designed with simple lines, gives the impression of being gigantic, while the interior treatment maintains an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere. In the midst of sumptuous comfort, the interior vocabulary grows, with a rich, sophisticated material and color palette, replete with theater and activity spaces that include a jacuzzi on the terrace! The massing arrangement adheres to rigid geometry and specified proportions; in addition to connecting the external and inside, it effectively offers the essential shade hours, despite the fact that the open facades receive an abundance of sunshine throughout the day. With the pool stretching forth on the first story above the entry foyer, the outside color palette of green and white is in harmony with the natural surroundings. The pool is located on the first floor. This seven thousand square foot home, which has unobstructed views of verdant vegetation and encompasses luxury on the inside, is the ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
