works of art and ktx by Matsuya The new Wada flagship store in Japan was designed by archilab to transform the architectural framework into a massive feature, particularly for those who like playing racket sports. Wada Sports is transferring its offices and primary retail location to a brand new building in order to commemorate the company’s 30th anniversary. The original racket stringing technology developed by the company is housed in the new structure, which also serves as a studio for wada bari technology. An enormous circular metal framework that supports the building may be found within the retail establishment. This design takes use of the structure by transforming it into a substantial component for the rackets. Immediately below the elliptical framework, the racket items are arranged in a fixture that was specially created. The rackets are laid up in a row and made simple to pick up one at a time so that the user may get a sense of the differences in weight, thickness, and touch. Above, the elliptical shape is being used as a display for a variety of valuable rackets that have been collected from all over the country. These rackets include vintage rackets made of wood, rackets that were used by famous players, and even rackets that were miraculously saved during the great tohoku earthquake in 2011. The shop’s interior takes on the appearance of a racket museum as a result of the proprietor’s extensive collection of rare rackets. This brand-new structure not only commemorates the last 30 years of wada sports history, but it also serves as a contemporary interpretation of the biblical narrative of Noah’s ark, passing on the tradition of racket sports to future generations.
