It seems that the manner she led the conversation with Hannity wasn’t to the liking of her bosses. However, she had not received guidance on how to deal with a host of a radio discussion program. A house energy and commerce committee of the US House of Representatives questioned several of the contractors listed on the Obamacare website. That Thursday, October 24, 2013, was on C-Span. The spokesman for CGI Federal, one of the software vendors for the Obamacare website, was Cheryl Campbell. Mr. Levitt served as the spokesman for another contractor, QSSI. It seems that six more contractors are implicated. Naturally, it is also essential that the software from one contractor interfaces with the software from the others in an appropriate manner. Campbell said that her organization examined its own software, and it seemed to be operating as intended. However, end-to-end testing of the whole system, or all of the software together, was not their responsibility. Testing the whole system seems to be the responsibility of no one, and testing was limited to a maximum of two weeks. However, Kathleen Sebelius, the secretary of health and human services, ought to have been in charge of this situation. If not Sebelius, then who inside the federal government was in charge of directing the work of the eight or so software providers, each of whom believed they were solely in charge of their own little portion of the project and not the whole one? It would have been more reasonable to do two months of overall testing rather than two weeks on a project this size. Congressmen pressed Campbell for specific details. She replied that if she could get approval from CMS, another contractor that CGI Federal has a contract with, she would provide the information. Three years and hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested on the Obamacare website. It seems that we have nothing to show for our investment. The House of Representatives is investigating the incident. It seems like someone has to be fired for this mess, and maybe criminal charges should be filed as well. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have received notice that their health insurance may be cancelled because their insurers do not meet Obamacare’s eligibility rules. Due to the ambiguity around the need for health care insurance, firms have been reluctant to make new hires. perhaps some have employed full-time workers instead of part-timers. How can the administration manage the real healthcare effectively if they are having this much difficulty in getting the website to function?
