The political realm is not an exception to the general misinformation that permeates the globe. I find it astounding that powerful politicians can continue to advance undemocratic objectives without the consent or awareness of the citizens they are sworn to represent. Certain strong, well-funded interest groups, such as those in the banking sector, israel lobbyists, the military/industrial complex, securities, and the medical/pharmaceutical establishment, work together to pursue and control these undemocratic objectives. Using the United States as an example, scholars Martin Gilens from Princeton University and Ben Page from Northwestern University verified the aforementioned findings in their examination of national government. They essentially came to the conclusion that senior politicians in the United States serve organized economic elite groups with their commercial interests, which in turn influence U.S. governmental policy to the point that a majority of the populace’s dissent would have little bearing. Taking into consideration the aforementioned, they concluded that the majority of American individuals possess little influence over political policies. This essentially implies that the wealthy private interest groups and powerful politicians are law unto themselves. Consequently, the majority does not govern. In what manner have these cunning top politicians escaped punishment? How have they been able to trick the people of this nation into thinking that democracy really exists? There are many contributing variables that might explain democracy’s decline and subsequent decline. 1. Mass media manipulation Politicians are fully aware that public acceptability and decision-making are significantly influenced by the manipulation of perception. They have been effective in doing this because they have concentrated media ownership in a small number of hands. These days, only five mega-corporations control all forms of mainstream media! They may efficiently exert control and provide the public with a limited perspective via censorship. Politicians continue to broadcast, telling us everything’s fine when it’s not, leading us down that dusty disinformation highway. For example, some politicians have told us that there were WMDs in Iraq. Mainstream media corporations and their offshoots face the threat of having their licenses revoked if they don’t follow government journalistic directives. 2. the outsourcing of production Industrial trade unions have all but disappeared as a result of the massive decline in manufacturing employment brought about by factory offshoring. This thus terminated the Democratic Party, which was receiving substantial financial assistance. The wealthy private interest groups that the Democrats must now court in order to receive financial support are the finance industry, Israel lobbyists, the military/industrial complex, securities, and the medical/pharmaceutical establishment. Essentially, this means that both the Democrats and the Republicans now serve the same lords and masters. 3. legislation designed with wealthy private interest organizations in mind Recently passed legislation essentially gives wealthy special interest groups the power to sway, shape, and mold a government according to their wishes. The Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission and McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission furthered the erosion of democracy. Some have accused the Supreme Court’s representatives in this ruling of treason. -as I’ve previously shown, this turns certain people become law unto themselves. the choice scam Considering the aforementioned three points, politicians have deceived us into believing that we have a choice in the direction that our nation should take when it comes to making decisions. However, since both republicans and Democrats are subject to the same lords and masters, we have no say in the matter; decisions will be made regardless of party. this makes choosing the political party you wish to lead a farce. Before assuming office, politicians sometimes make a long list of unfulfilled or noncommittal pledges. They are free to say as many of these falsehoods throughout the campaign as they want, and they will undoubtedly get away with it and dupe a lot of people in the process. The politicians are the same whether they are in the US, the UK, or any other Western nation. To start the process of establishing a new political paradigm based on truth, honesty, and integrity, one must first hit the zero reset button and begin again. this may be achieved by refusing to bow to those powerful interest groups and their stooges, puppet politicians. Choosing not to support these political parties would undoubtedly be a wise non-compliant decision. Recall that we much outnumber this privileged few. Can a massive influx of truth-seeking, honorable, and good individuals reclaim their proper place in authority?
