The battle is ours to win. It is not going to be Washington that provides the solution. It is only going to come from the men and women all around this nation, from men and women, from people of religion, from people who love liberty, and from people who appreciate the Constitution. In the same way that it has occurred at every previous moment of difficulty in this country, it will only occur when the people of the United States of America join together and declare that they will return to the ideals that have guided the development of this nation. The United States of America, which is synonymous with a gleaming city on a hill, will be brought back to its former glory by our forces. This is Ted Cruz speaking at Liberty University on March 23, 2015. The majority of the things that Liberty students imagined were tied to the nation’s founding promise of freedom and opportunity. Ted Cruz invited Liberty students to envision a number of things about the United States of America. When it comes to the strongman of the Senate from the state of Texas, it would seem that no one would find fault with such an exercise in restoration and patriotic renewal. However, as was to be anticipated, liberals and those who are apathetic discovered that they had something to criticize. Cruz ran on the stage without any notes or prompter, totally animated, well articulated, and leaving nothing out of his speech. He did not leave anything out throughout his announcement. When it came to subjects that are considered to be “hot button” social concerns, such as marriage and abortion, he did not show any reluctance and covered every aspect of both domestic and international affairs. Cruz is no stranger to finding the most appropriate words to express himself; he criticized the President’s health care plan for a total of twenty-one hours on the floor of the Senate, only one year after being elected to the Senate seats. Cruz is more than just a rhetorician; he makes his statements with passion, and it is difficult not to get the impression that he is speaking from the heart. Although there are others who believe that he is too fresh to the scene and that we need to choose a politician with more experience for our next president, he is the only candidate who stands out in the hunt for a new voice that is not constrained by the political machinery of Washington. Beltway baggage would bring him down to the same speed as other tired offerings of the Republican Party, such as Jeb Bush and Rand Paul, and there is some doubt as to whether or not he can appeal to the grassroots supporters in order to assist him in raising the money that is necessary for him to be successful in his bid for the Oval Office. On the eve of his announcement, his most vehement critics were not liberals, but rather conservatives who were stranded in the middle of the road and trapped in mid-air, such as Bill O’Reilly. A only few hours after Cruz delivered his heated speech, the Factor issued warnings about his extreme rightward leanings, stating that he was too far ahead of the middle. I instantly remembered echoes of Christ’s strong admonition to the indolent – we’ve got it made church – of the Laodiceans to either get on with it, or get out of it, other than the fact that he would reject them altogether. I am a preacher of the gospel and I have been studying the Bible for fifty years. I am aware of the fact that you are neither chilly nor hot; nonetheless, I would prefer if you were either cold or hot. Therefore, since you are neither chilly nor hot, I shall spit you out of my mouth because you are lukewarm. Revised verses 15-16 The demand for a candidate who is in the center of the road that O’Reilly has made is comparable to sending a boy scout to a fire that has five alarms. As a result of Barack Obama’s liberal policies, the nation has been engulfed in anti-constitutional corruption, lies, and an increase in the general acceptance of all things that are vile and perverted. There is not even a trace of smoke, much alone the burning of Rome, according to the liberals of the day, who deny the existence of smoke at all. When dealing with a situation that requires an experienced fire captain and crew, it is not possible to send a good old boy and a group of boy scouts to handle the situation. The country has moved as far to the left as it is possible for it to go without tumbling over the cliff and bringing about its own doom; yet, dragging it back away from the brink will not be achieved by a nice person who is poky on the center and has some thoughts about the good old days. Not only is Cruz the candidate who most closely resembles Ronald Reagan, but he is also a visionary who has the same level of understanding as our cherished founding fathers. In this day and age of deterioration, anything less than that would not be sufficient. Who desires too little; it’s too late to get it? Take a look at the announcement that Cruz made in the transcript. Since the year 2005, Michael Bresciani has been serving as the publisher of American Prophet.org.
