At the time when my family rented a campervan for the very first time, I had no clue what to anticipate. Even though I was only twelve years old at the time, I had never even been inside of a campervan before. My younger sister was just nine years old. My memory of stepping off the airport in Christchurch and being driven to the campervan rental facility is still fresh in my mind. In spite of the fact that some of the white vans were enormous, it was difficult to conceive of the possibility that there would be sufficient space inside for me, my sister, my mother, my father, and my grandmother to be comfortable for both weeks. in fact, there was. Almost immediately, I realized that campervans are similar to tardises in that they seem to be larger on the inside. Even the most basic versions often have a living room that is furnished with sofas and a dining table that can be converted into a large bed, a sink that is equipped with running hot and cold water, a stove, a refrigerator, a heater, storage space, and a tiny toilet and shower. Naturally, as the size of the campervan model increases, there is a corresponding increase in the amount of space available for extra conveniences, consisting of microwaves and closets. We ended up purchasing a six-berth campervan, which is one of the larger kinds of campervans that are available, since we were going to be taking five people on our very first New Zealand campervan rental vacation. A television, central heating, fly screens (not that they were much help against the sandflies of the west coast, but that is a story for another time), and an awesome panoramic rear window were all included in the vehicle. In addition, it carried everything that had been mentioned up until this point. It is also important to note that the majority of campervan rentals in New Zealand come with complimentary necessities like as bedding, towels, cooking utensils, pots and pans, a kettle, a toaster, and cleaning supplies. Some firms will even provide you with a camping table and chairs so that you can have meals outdoors, while other companies will charge you additional fees for such goods. There were three double beds in our campervan, which had six berths, one of which was located above the driver’s cabin, one in the center, and one at the back. In reality, the one in the back, which is where I slept, had enough space for three people, and each of them would have had plenty of room to move about. Despite the fact that there was a lot of space available, my mother’s snoring made it impossible for me to sleep. On the other hand, the loss of privacy was the sole disadvantage of living in a campervan for a period of two weeks. aspect, in addition to the fact that the shower and the toilet were located in the same area, but this did not seem to be a problem for anybody else. When traveling around New Zealand, renting a campervan is the most convenient method to tour the nation, and it also makes for a vacation that is both memorable and stress-free. My upcoming campervan journey to New Zealand is something that I am looking forward to with open arms.
