The competition will take place in New York City from April 13-20. Fourteen-year-old De Luca was selected to participate in the finals of the Youth America Grand Prix competition in New York City. His selection was based on an audition as well as a performance that took place in San Francisco. CAPA’s owner, Carol Richmond, said that “this is a big success for Annabel and her teachers, a true stepping stone to the possibilities of developing a professional career.” Annabel and her instructors have accomplished a great deal. As a result of this very distinguished accolade, she will have the opportunity to compete and perform among dancers from all around the globe. During the summer of this year, she will also be participating in the Summer Intensive Program offered by the Pacific Northwest Ballet, which is located in Bellevue, Washington. The Paris Opera Ballet in Paris, The Kirov Academy in Washington, District of Columbia, and the Los Angeles Ballet Academy were also among the institutions that accepted her. Sandra Burnham and Philip Pegler, who is the director of the CAPA Ballet, are De Luca’s instructors at the dance school.
