What aspect of autumn is your favorite? Which do you like more: the resumption of football or the crisp, chilly air? Do you eagerly anticipate Halloween candies and await the first taste of pumpkin-flavored coffee throughout the whole year? I could probably go on and on about all the things I like about this season, but you can probably guess what my absolute favorite is: the small autumn garden! When I need a vacation from the hectic fall days, I enter the realm of the fairy garden, where little ornaments, whimsical buildings, and creepy flora pique my interest and make the gloomy, cold days of October seem beautiful. If, like me, you’ve already begun to design and arrange the ideal container garden but are in need of some seasonal motivation, continue reading! This is how I want to design this year’s autumn tiny garden with a few fall colors. orange vibrant, juicy, joyful, and lovely. Orange gives the little garden a huge dose of joy. If you prepare well, you may even use your orange accessories in the container garden come wintertime. Go no further than the pumpkin to begin experimenting with orange in the fairy garden. I’ve used tiny, fake gourds into my fairy garden in a few different ways in the past. They may be packed onto a little red wagon, placed on a tiny picnic table for a fairy pumpkin-carving celebration, or stacked on the porch of a fairy dwelling. You could even plant a low-fence-enclosed pumpkin patch in the fairy garden. Remember to include a homemade welcome to the pumpkin patch sign! Naturally, an eye-catching orange pumpkin might also be the focal point of your little garden. Look for fairy dwellings that resemble pumpkins or carve one yourself. You could even use a hollowed-out gourd to make a container for your fairy garden. Though it would not be durable enough to contain winter plants, a handcrafted fairy home within a carved pumpkin would still be a wonderful display and enjoyable project for both creative adults and children. One hue that really works well in the garden is red, red. The eye is drawn to the vivid, rich color, which also offers a refreshing contrast to the green little plants. Miniature red plants and accessories also go very well with winter container gardening. Fun ideas to incorporate red into the fairy garden include red carriages, red fences, red toadstools with white dots, and red apple baskets. Numerous little plants with burgundy or scarlet leaf are also available, and they would look great in the fairy garden. A garden may be made to seem deep crimson or burgundy by using plants like alternanthera, oxalis, and red twig dogwood. Additionally, I’ve discovered that a vivid red barn or schoolhouse creates a striking focal point in the fairy garden and works well to build a harvest or back-to-school theme—both of which are excellent choices for the autumn. Attach a fire engine red fairy door to the base of a tree for a huge, easy-to-make splash of color. People walking by will be curious as to where the door may lead. yellow I’m reminded of a late-season sunset by the hues of October. Brighter orange and yellow replace the darker red and brown. Even though the garden is mostly gloomy, I prefer to provide some brightness with splashes of yellow or gold. I’ve experimented with yellow glass pebbles, imitation plants with yellow blooms and leaves, and yellow reindeer moss in the past. A autumn container garden might be completed with a cup full of yellow mums. I do hope the finished product brings plenty of color into your life, regardless of what you choose to add to your autumn tiny garden. When the days get gloomy and cold, the fairy garden may provide untold delight. Savor it while it’s still here. Happy autumn!
