Written by Rutvi Ashar Photographs taken by Ouyang Yun; made available by AD Architecture This residence is endorsed by AD Architecture, which has an ancient philosophical bent, and black, in its seductive tones, epitomizes modern luxury while also giving a sensory experience. As part of their quest to find the original, the designers have implemented the idea of the “origin of texture,” which gives this mostly monochromatic house a sense of raw naturalness. The primary objective is to give the users the feeling of being immersed in a living atmosphere that is both natural and pleasant, where luxury is paired with a touch of reflection. In the apartment, the color scheme is centered on a mix of black and gray with white light, with a few splashes of dark bluish-gray tones here and there. Due to the fact that the people are the focal point of the design, this generates a powerful feeling of drama. The lighting draws attention to the people who are using it, almost like a spotlight, in order to encourage them to be in the here and now. It is almost theatrical how the house, with its dark inner envelope, plays out like a theater, and the people who live there are the main players! These glossy tiles reflect the natural light that is brought into the space by the huge expanse of glass windows that are located throughout the area. Through the use of natural wood in the reception hall, the most succinct expression of the spatial essence is achieved. In order to create unity in design, the bedroom is in a condition of silence and purity, and its backdrop is made of wood, which is consistent with the wood furniture that is found in the other parts of the house. Through the use of a variety of senses, the design encourages the people who live there to experience and discover diverse things. On the other hand, considering that this is an effort to adhere to the concept, the palette becomes quite restrictive. The sensations are overwhelmed, and the atmosphere starts to cry for a color that is far lighter. The wandering eyes explore, and all they can do is hope that props will suddenly materialize in front of them, ready to breathe in a feeling of energy in the design.
