An expansive mansion in New Delhi was designed by Atrey and Associates to incorporate elements of nature into its contemporary and ultra-luxurious style… It is via the combination of a front-facing manicured park and the Kailasha house in Pitampura, New Delhi, that the duality of man and nature is brought to life. On the other hand, the family house with two stories is not only an exhausted effort to bring the natural beauty of the outside inside. Ingeniously, the team, which is directed by the lead architect Arun Sharma, incorporates a variety of natural features into the residence. These components include manicured gardens, water bodies that are soothing, and a general feeling of airiness. The terrace garden on the first level is encircled by a curved concrete shape, and the bedroom on the second story is encircled by the same form. It does not stand in sharp contrast to the natural surroundings of the residence; rather, it provides fluidity to the otherwise boxy construction, bringing a sense of interest to the front of the building. Despite the fact that there are well-configured rooms, the open-plan house has a feeling of airiness. This is in part owing to the presence of balconies, shaded areas, and in-between spaces that allow for abundant natural ventilation. In addition, non-reflective surfaces cut down on the amount of heat that is emitted. Glass, which is often used because of its transparency, may be found in a variety of different circumstances. In the master bedroom on the ground level, which has double-height ceilings, there is a glass staircase that leads to an open spa area and a walk-in closet that are joined by a glass bridge. This helps to increase the amount of space available. On the second story, between the children’s bedrooms, which both have glass sliders that open to landscaped areas, there is a living tree that is contrasted against a courtyard wall that is 26 feet high. Views of the courtyard below may be seen from the third-floor lounge and bedroom that are reserved for guests. An abundance of wood work lends a sense of grounded appeal to a house that has all the trappings of an ultra-luxurious residence, such as contemporary furniture and chandeliers that are purchased from worldwide manufacturer of style. Larger-than-life works of art and sculptures set against walls made of extremely textured stone and a flooring made of all-white stone further contribute to the establishment’s distinctive personality. The bar in the basement is transformed into a focal point by incorporating a raw wooden log that has been transformed into a miniature fountain. This fountain flows into a body of water that is located in the outdoor bar, which also features a living tree, further blurring the line between the indoors and the outdoors. Creating a pleasant living area that has a microclimate and a spirit that speaks to the house owners is what Atrey & Associates does by irrevocably tying the architecture and interiors to nature.
