On October 5, 2018, in Monterey, California — Food, art, and craft vendors are needed for the Monterey Cowboy Festival, which will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year on November 3 at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center. The festival is looking for merchants to fill its famous midway and marketplace positions. Custom saddles, fine leather boots, stunning paintings, and handmade jewelry are just some of the items that can be found in the Marketplace, which is situated on the Main Lawn and is adjacent to the vendors selling food and beverages. The Marketplace is home to some of the most incredible western art and gear vendors in the country. The submission form must be filled out in its whole by each and every vendor in order to be considered for submission. All contributions must be made in the English language and must be received before the deadline for submissions, which is the 15th of October. There is a possibility that entries that are incomplete will not be considered. As a result of the fact that all submissions are made on a non-commissioned basis, they do not establish a fiduciary, confidential, or contractual relationship between the festival and the vendor. The only relationship that is established is the contractual relationship that is established by the terms of the submission. Vendors of food and crafts may submit their applications at the following links: https://marcatoapp.com/forms/mcf2018/fooddrinkvendorapplication and https://marcatoapp.com/forms/mcf2018/artgearapp (new). The application deadline is the 15th of October. The Monterey Cowboy Festival, which was formerly known as the Monterey Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival, will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Monterey County Fair & Event Center, which is located at 2004 Fairground Road in Monterey. You may get tickets online at www.montereycowboy.org. The prices vary from $19 for a Grounds Pass to $247 for a VIP experience. Tickets are available starting at $19. People come together to enjoy and learn more about the “cowboy way of life,” which includes its history, contemporary values, and culture. The festival highlights Monterey’s contribution to the western legacy of our nation and brings people together to honor this contribution. Among the artists performing on the Main Arena Stage are the “throwback” country musician Jon Pardi, the Texas neotraditionalist country group Midland, the country vocalist Corb Lund, and the cowboy poets Waddie Mitchell and Paul Zarzyski. Ernie Sites, Cow Bop, Mike Beck, Juni Fisher, Andy Hedges, Tom Swearingen, The Carolyn Sills Combo, Joni Harms, Almeda Bradshaw, and The Hasslers are some of the artists that will be performing on the Garden Stage, which is located on the surrounding grounds. Since the festival’s start, its foundation has been charitable, and throughout the course of the previous 19 years, it has donated more than fifty thousand dollars to local organizations as a registered nonprofit organization classified as 501(c) (3). During the bulk of those years, Gary Brown, the festival’s originator and a former Monterey police chief, was in charge. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2016 after a long and courageous struggle with lung illness. In 1998, Brown established the Monterey Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival with the intention of preserving the tradition of the American cowboy while also doing all in his power to give back to the community in which he lived. In an effort to continue Gary’s commitment to giving, the festival has announced the establishment of the Gary Brown Scholarship Fund. This fund will be directed toward students in the seventh through twelfth grades in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties who are interested in enhancing their music education in the areas of school tuition, tuition for music camps, private music lessons, or the purchase or repair of musical equipment.
