The makr shakr system is an intriguing and revolutionary new mixology system that enables users to develop personalized cocktail recipes in real time using a smartphone application. Additionally, it transforms these ideas into crowd-sourced drink mixes. “makr shakr is a great example of how robotic technologies are changing the interaction between people and products – a topic that we have been exploring in great depth,” said Carlo Ratti, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and co-founder of makr shakr. “These technologies are changing the way people interact with products.” The system allows users to create their own cocktail concoctions, while digitally controlled machinery convert these concepts into reality. “The system examines the new dynamics of social production and consumption,” the system says. “Design, make, and enjoy.” Users will access a simple application on a tablet in order to utilize Makr Shakr. This application will enable users to construct an almost infinite number of possible combinations of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The creations of cocktails will then be assembled by two robotic arms, the movements of which will be displayed on a large display that is positioned behind the bar. These movements will mimic the actions of a bartender, including the shaking of a martini, the thin slicing of a lemon garnish, and the muddle of a mojito. The visitors will have the ability to name their own recipes, view their purchase history, and reorder their favorite drinks, all while rating and commenting on each other’s experiences! “makr shakr does not advise replacing the bartender with a robot; rather, it is created as a social experiment that looks at how people may accept the new possibilities presented by robotics and digital manufacturing,” said saverio panata, the chief operating officer of makr shakr. Via the process of co-creating and combining components in Makr Shakr, social connections are weaved throughout the process. These relationships are then made available to the user through the application. Consumers are able to learn from one another via the use of this new technology, which allows them to share links, recipes, and photographs on social networks. According to panata, “digital connection is not replacing physical contacts; rather, it is increasing the importance of such interactions.” It was decided to style the motions of the robots after the gestures of the Italian choreographer Marco Pelle, who works with New York Theatre Ballet. This was done in order to provide an interesting bar experience. It was decided to record Mr. Pelle’s motions and then utilize them as inputs in the process of programming the robots’ animation. those that are responsible for the venture: Makr Shakr is a startup that was established in 2014 with the intention of providing people with novel robotic interactions, particularly in the food and beverage industry. Makr Shakr worked along with a number of different companies, including the automation business CIA, the German robot manufacturer Kuka, the information technology consultants Seac02, and the installation construction kibox. Carlo Ratti Associates, a design and innovation practice based in Turin that has won multiple awards, has been recognized with a number of accolades, including the “best inventions of the year” award from Time magazine on two separate occasions, the red dot award, and the renzo piano foundation award for new talents in architecture. The Anthem of the Seas is the cruise ship that is considered to be the most technologically sophisticated cruise ship. It is the third biggest cruise ship that has ever been constructed.
