This series of hack and slash video games was produced by Capcom and conceived by Hideki Kamiya. Devil May Cry is a series of video games. In the beginning, it was supposed to be a continuation of Capcom’s Resident Evil series; but, as it progressed through production, it became such a significant divergence from the series’ style that it was ultimately evolved into a completely new franchise. The quest of the main character, Dante, to eliminate demons in order to exact revenge for the death of his mother is the driving force behind the series. Dante is a master of pistol and sword who owns a “odd-job” agency. He is a superhuman son in addition to being the son of a strong demon and a human lady who were both slain. Despite the fact that he is having financial difficulties, he never loses his composure since work always pays him a visit sooner or later. Capcom has given the “platinum title” designation to each of the five entries in the series, indicating that the series has been a commercial success.
