Considering that then, tonsuring has evolved into a gift to Lord Balaji at the temple. In the temple, brahmotsavam is widely celebrated every September. Other Vaishnava holidays, such as Janmashtami, Rama Navratri, and Vaikuntha Ekadasi, are also greatly celebrated. About 140 kilometers separate the tirupati temple from Chennai. There is a railhead and an airport in Temple City. There are a lot of hotels in Tirupati to accommodate the needs of the many pilgrims that visit the temple.
