By team iand photography: courtesy of the designers every new advance in the sphere of technology pushes us closer to a future society in which accuracy, simplicity, and clarity are the governing principles. One such invention is referred to as “datastickiestm.” From nand flash memory in the middle of the 1980s to USB flash drives in the late 1990s, we now have reason to expect that we will soon be able to carry about simple sticky notes that will assist us in reading and transferring electronic data. Similar to the yellow sticky notes that are a helpful tool to accelerate mid-way communication, the datastickies, as the name implies, facilitate in the electronic storage and transmission of information in a manner similar to a usb drive. The idea behind datastickies was conceived by aditi singh, an architect and industrial designer, and parag anand meshram, an associate professor of industrial design at the spa in New Delhi. Together, they were presented with the red dot award for outstanding design concept in 2013. The operation is as follows: The datastickiestm is a stack of sticky notes that can be detached from the stack and adhered in any location on the proposed odts (optical data transfer surface). The odts is a panel that is placed on the front surface of various electronic devices such as computer screens, televisions, music systems, and so on. The medium via which the data is transferred is the specialized conductive glue that is used to adhere the datastickiestm to the odts. The adhesive is made up of an innovative new substance known as grapheme. Grapheme is a monolayer of carbon atoms that is flat and is firmly packed into a thin honeycomb lattice in two dimensions. This is capable of storing a substantial amount of data. Additionally, the particular pressure-sensitive adhesive with a low tack may be reapplied several times without leaving any traces behind. Sticky notes are designed in a variety of colors and patterns that facilitate the segregation of data according to the kind and size. Additionally, these notes may be grouped together to boost memory capacity, which also makes it easier to transport them all at once. It is possible to write on the top surface. If a single file has to be sent to someone, rather than providing them with an entire flash drive, a single sticky note may be used. The fact that the datastickiestm can be affixed to any surface makes it less likely that they will be misplaced. This concept is yet another technological instrument that is appropriate for improved user experience and a catalyst for good change since it is based on the notion of creating a bridge between the virtual world and the real world using a design that is more sophisticated, small, and elegant.
