To Kim Jong Un, in the name of God: Let My People Go! There is a high degree of certainty that President Trump is aware of the fact that nuclear weapons are not the only significant issue being faced by the leader of North Korea. There is sufficient information available from secret sources, defectors, and those who have escaped from North Korea to compile a clear picture of the nation that is the worst violator of human rights in the region. This is the case despite the fact that it is difficult to obtain news, pictures, and first-hand testimony from the rogue nation. A significant number of individuals who are being jailed, incarcerated, assaulted, and subjected to frequent torture have as their only offense the fact that they are Christians who believe in the Bible. In all honesty, Kim Jong Un is the contemporary equivalent of Emperor Nero in the eastern world. Does Christianity pose a significant risk? This past Tuesday, May 29, 2018, the United States Department of State published a report that condemned the dictatorship in North Korea. The information was included in the annual International Religious Freedom Report that was released. Christianity is seen as a “severe danger” by the communist state authorities. Kim Jong Un views as a danger to his reign and his country those individuals who get to their knees to pray and make an effort to love their neighbors as they love themselves. According to reports, there have been 119 deaths and 87 disappearances in recent times, and there are as many as 50,000 to 200,000 Christians who are still being held in concentration camps that are, in every respect, comparable to those that were used by Nazi Germany. There is not a single camp that is accessible to the Red Cross or any other humanitarian organization for the purpose of inspection. Which offenses do they commit? In exchange for practically little, a large number of North Koreans are taken into custody and sent to labour camps. According to Breitbart, “The report also suggested that persecution of individuals suspected of being Christians increased recently.” North Korean citizens were targeted for “crimes” that ranged from being found in possession of religious material to simply loitering near a church for too long for police to be comfortable with their presence, or driving by a church too many times on multiple occasions. Concerning the camps, what are the opinions of North Korean defectors? Thae Yong-ho, the highest senior North Korean official to ever defect from the country, was also said to have been mentioned by Breitbart. As a means of fostering trust among the North Korean populace, Thae said that Kim should embrace Christianity and the proliferation of churches. When Thae addressed the leaders of the west, he said, “You must urge that North Korea erect churches for both South Koreans and foreigners.” Thae was speaking to South Koreans. “It is imperative that you persuade the Northern territories that granting religious liberty would engender confidence. The North Korean people will be moved when they see churches that have crucifixes. Does the North Korean regime’s detention camps surpass those of the Nazis? According to Justice Thomas Buergenthal, a former survivor of a concentration camp in Nazi Germany, the camps in North Korea are not only more heinous than the concentration camps in Auschwitz and Sachsenhausen, but the political prisons and camps in North Korea ought to be categorized as ongoing “crimes against humanity.” On a regular basis, torturous acts, including murder and the killing of infants, are carried out. One of the three jurists who came to the conclusion that the North Korean camps are engaging in activities that constitute crimes against nature, including rape, forced labor, starvation, child abuse, murder, and enslavement, was Buergenthal, who had previously served on the International Court of Justice. It is a shooting squad that responds to any attempts at escape. “A doctor who was arrested attempting to escape to China reported that he was stripped, hanged upside down, battered, and tortured with fire or water,” said one camp survivor. “He was tortured with fire or water.” According to something that was written by Debbie Shipp for an Australian news site, water that had been mixed with pepper was thrown into his mouth and nose. Kim Jong Un is subject to just one requirement from God and the rest of the civilized world to fulfill. There are nine instances of this phrase in the Bible, and it is often connected to the Exodus of the ancient Israelites from Egypt. Moses was the one who made the demand, and he was the one who conveyed the will of God to Pharaoh. It was a demand that was made without any ambiguity or equivocation. “Allow my people to go.” Exhibit 5: 1 Each and every tyrant, dictator, and despot is subjected to the same demand of their subjects. In addition to being a clear order to all those who would oppress others, it is also the character of God. When people are persecuted because of their faith in God, the fury of God is evoked into the situation. As a result of having the worst economic circumstances of any nation in the east, the hermit state of Kim Jong Un is already under the wrath of God. There is no reason not to shed light on the situation so that the people of Korea and those who are being held in internment camps might eventually be freed from their hopeless situation. What kind of light? Do into consideration these unambiguous directives on the actions that you need to take for the people of your country, Kim Jong Un. Is this not the fast that I have decided to adhere to? to break every yoke, to loosen the chains of evil, to untie the heavy loads, and to set the oppressed free, and to do all of these things—and to accomplish all of these things? (Isaiah 58:6) [Verse] “And if you reach out your soul to those who are hungry, and if you satisfy the soul that is suffering, then your light will rise in darkness, and your gloom will be like the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10) A Since 2005, Michael Bresciani has served as the editor of the website American Prophet.org.
