An essay that I had written and published some time before the general election in 2008 was titled “Can the 2008 Election be Won by a Slogan?” To this day, it remains one of the pieces that I have ever published that has had the most readers. I could not have imagined that only eight years later, the United States of America would embark on another highly questionable pursuit in which a slogan leads the way. Despite the fact that it is once again an unserviceable quest led by someone who called decent people clowns, stupid idiots, and fools, I could not have imagined that this would happen. Megyn Kelly was referred to as a bimbo by Mr. Trump, and Pollster Frank Luntz was referred to as a clown. There is no need to be concerned; I have never gone up to Trump’s office in search of employment, and I would never do so. For a whole generation, I have spent each morning at the feet of my Savior and studied his word. I have done this for the whole of my life. The following is what I discovered concerning the practice of labeling anybody as an idiot or anything like. “However, I say to you, that whomever is furious with his brother without a reason shall be in risk of the judgment; and whoever should say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; but whoever shall say, THOU FOOL, shall be in danger of eternal fire,” Christ said to his disciples. (Matthew 5:22) This does not imply that you are unable to warn someone that they are playing the fool or choosing a route that is foolish; rather, it means that you are unable to make a comprehensive character judgment against someone and declare them an idiot who is completely and utterly squandered. The fact that Trump is not familiar with this scripture is not surprising to me since, when asked about his favorite verse from the Bible, he was unable to provide a single line to cite. Nit-picky? There are some people who believe that Donald made a serious error when he was speaking at Liberty University recently. They believe that he made a mistake when he called 2 Corinthians 3: 17 – Two Corinthians 3: 17 – rather than calling it Second Corinthians 3: 17 – this is the definition of the term “nit-picky.” The one error that Donald made during his talk is one that is shared by many aspiring political candidates. That mistake was to utilize the language of the addressee in order to impress the easy targets by means of their own language that they are acquainted with. That is, without a doubt, a foolish course of action since it implies that the person being listened to is either ignorant or, at the very least, too stupid to understand that they are being forced. Liberty University has a long-standing record of attracting and molding the minds of the most brilliant individuals in the United States; it is unlikely that many of these individuals could be simply taken away. Those who are applauding for Donald Trump are caught up in the momentum, the intensity, and the sheer warmth of the slogan “Make America Great Again.” They are the audience that is most likely to be oblivious to the fact that the Devil is still hiding in the details; will it be identical to 2008 all over again? Some individuals are attempting to discover a rational explanation for the phenomena of Trump. An intriguing post has been written by Mychal Massie, a prolific writer and fellow journalist, in which he says that Donald Trump is not conservative nor liberal, but rather a pure pragmatic. Massie makes the observation that Trump does not understand the difference between a conservative and a liberal approach to any given situation; rather, he identifies a problem and asserts that he will find a solution to it. It is possible that Massie has identified a significant aspect of the Trump psychology; yet, despite the fact that his insight is revealing itself, it is the other aspects of Donald Trump’s character and psyche that may result in much more significant issues that no one can resolve. Donald Trump is the source of the issue. Mychal closed his lucid post with these words; “People are quick to misunderstand and hate confidence as arrogance, yet that is prevalent amongst people who have never done anything in their life and who have always played it safe not daring to chance failure.” We could be ready to put our future in the hands of an unproven guy whose only claim to fame is that he made billions of dollars on a million dollar loan from his father and made significant achievements in the market that is the easiest in the world, but the United States of America is not a company. Money is something that can be risked by anybody; the United States of America is comprised of 280 million individuals, and no one has the authority to put the future of these lives in jeopardy on the basis of a political phrase. Does the year 2008 come around again? What Christians need to be searching for in Mr. Trump is his witness of redemption; nevertheless, they seem to be all too eager to disregard this and instead cram themselves into the swarm of sycophants who are yelling like never before. The conservative media depicts Donald Trump as an outsider, a candidate who is not affiliated with the establishment and who, as a businessman, must be above the fray given his position. Nevertheless, with just a few days left before the Iowa Caucuses, he was not beyond raising the birther issue to the forefront and rehashing the Heidi Cruz CFR discussion once again. The Trump supporters have the odor of blood in their noses, despite the fact that Ted Cruz has provided a comprehensive defense of his wife on several occasions. After years of digging and searching for documents, filing lawsuits, and engaging the professional law enforcement teams of Sheriff Arpaio, we were still forced to endure the nearly despotic rule of one of the candidates in the history of the United States who had not been vetted. This candidate was Mr. Barack Obama. Is it true that we now believe that Ted Cruz and Heidi are the villains? It is likely that I will continue to write and debate politics, but it is behavior such as this that will continue to make me despise the political system in the United States. In some situations, there is almost any distinction between a catchphrase and nothing but sheer slop. It is possible that the result will be the same regardless of whether it is the gotcha of incompetent politics in the United States or the political mechanics of power conflicts in Germany in 1933. The angry people of the United States are more like a lynch mob that is searching for a substitute for themselves than they are for a statesman who represents the whole country. I would like to bring to the attention of my readers once again the fact that the signing of the Treaty of Versailles was a humiliating and suffocating experience for the Germans after the conclusion of the First World War. Hitler rose to power on the basis of his promise to “Make Germany great again.” However, no one took into account the fascist leanings, the vile anti-Semitism, or the disregard for all other nations of the world that lay dormant in the world’s dictator and imagineer of the Third Reich. Hitler’s rise to power was based on his promise to “Make Germany great again.” The only thing that they perceived was the phrase “Germany will be great again.” Are we going back to the year 1933? The clarion call to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is so much more important than the lesser calling of President, and I would not even consider accepting it. I questioned my old pastor, Dr. Richard Land, who is now the president of Southern Evangelical Seminary and Bible School, why he did not leave the ministry to pursue politics, which was plainly one of his biggest passions. I was still in my twenties at the time. His response was exactly the same as mine for the moment. It was someone who asked me whether I would solely vote for Jesus if he were running for president of the United States. Since Jesus is already the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, I find it difficult to picture him accepting a lower calling than the one he currently has. On the other hand, I would react to a guy who at least had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As was the case with Barack Obama, the subject of whether or not Donald Trump is a Christian is likewise up for discussion. As is the case with Obama, he could be familiar with Christ, but it is quite unlikely that he is familiar with Christ. Stoyan Zaimov, a reporter for the Christian Post, urges Christians to take into consideration the fact that Donald Trump has not had a conversion, a valid witness, or a salvation experience. During the course of his critical piece titled “Donald Trump Insists He Has a ‘Great Relationship’ With God and Evangelicals,” he made the following statement: According to Mr. Zaimov, who was paraphrasing Donald Trump, “I am a member of the Protestant faith. As a Presbyterian, I am. I am pleased with it. According to what Trump said to David Brody of CBN in June, “I am quite proud of that.” Believe me when I say that if I run for office and I am successful, I will be the most wonderful representative of the Christian community that they have had in a very long time. On the other hand, he disclosed later in the month of July that he is uncertain as to whether or not he has ever sought God for forgiveness. ” How is it possible for a man to become a Christian if he does not confess and repent of all of his sins at the foot of the cross, and if he does not become “born again” as Christ declared? Is it possible that going to a few Presbyterian churches has eliminated the need to have a spiritual rebirth? In response to my inquiry on Trump’s Christian beliefs, I have found an answer to a question that Jesus Christ posed around the year 33 AD. What is the use for your calling me Lord, Lord, if you do not follow the things that I say? (The Bible, Luke 6:46) It is beyond any reasonable question that Trump is not following the teachings of the Savior who said them, given that he was unable to name even a single passage from the Bible when he was requested to do so. On the other hand, the evangelicals are forming a line behind their pied piper, carrying posters that read, “Thank you, Jesus, for Bestowing upon us Donald Trump.” The sycophantic excitement that is being shown here raises two very important issues. Are those who attend church or those who have been born again considered to be “Evangelicals”? Second, it is the year 33 AD every single time. In conclusion, I would be negligent if I did not restate the one most important reason why I feel Trump is not the right choice for the United States of America. Both Trump’s views on abortion and homosexual marriage are less than ideal, and they are absolutely not Christian in any way, shape, or form. Regardless matter who wins the next election, if these two judgments of the Supreme Court of the United States are allowed to remain in place and are acknowledged as “the law of the land,” the United States would never again be able to achieve greatness. You are able to rely on it. Should we wait for another four to eight years of a Trump government before we can decide whether or not this is true? At that point, there will be just one question left. Is the year 2016 repeating itself? Let’s deal with the year 2016 while it is still the year 2016! Since the year 2005, Michael Bresciani has been serving as the publisher of American Prophet.org.
