Because of the obstacles that are now in place, neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are in a position to bring about effective change. Even while there are a lot of people who wish to bring about real change, they just aren’t able to. As a result of the partisan politics and the influence of “big money,” they are trapped inside a system from which they have no authority and through which they are unable to escape. Due to the fact that they are the issue, they are unable to find a solution. The use of the same concept that was used to generate the issue is not a viable strategy for effecting genuine change. There is a problem with our system, and it has to be solved before we can make any other kind of progress. It is the same of sitting in a vehicle that has broken down while planning our journey with a map in hand, when we have no concrete plans to repair the automobile. It is thus necessary for two things to take place in order for our nation to even have a chance of succeeding. Initially, it is necessary for the two key parties to collaborate. In the second place, the dominating power of “big money” and special interest organizations has to be reduced or eliminated entirely. In the event that these things do not take place, it is irrelevant who the president is, what wonderful ideas they have, or how great of a leader they are. Due to the fact that there would be no significant change, we may as well put a child of five years old in there. Those who are economically disadvantaged will continue to face insurmountable challenges, and a disaster is on the horizon. Currently, our country is experiencing a crisis. When it comes to politics, the present scenario is comparable to a conflict between two parties (the Democrats and the Republicans) over who will be the hero, while another party (our country) is struggling to survive in a lake while drowning. Both of them have the desire to help the individual, but their want to be the hero takes precedence over their desire to save the person. Consequently, they argue over who is going to carry out the task, and because neither of them is willing to let the other person save the individual, the individual continues to gasp for air and scream for assistance, but the fighting continues despite the fact that the situation is increasingly dire. In addition to the fact that this is an emergency issue, considerable genuine change and action are required to be made right now. Our nation is bankrupt; we have significant threats to the country throughout the world; we are becoming segregated, fighting against each other over class envy, race, and gender issues; we have over 17 million people out of work; over 46 million on food stamps; illegal immigrants are flooding our borders; drugs and crime plague many of our inner city streets; people are suffering because they don’t have quality education; and all this is happening while the rich get richer and everyone else gets poorer. Is it really a hopeless situation? Yes. On the other hand, there is a glimmer of hope if we are able to come together as a people in order to bring about the genuine change that is necessary for achievement and the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. What are some ways that we may resolve these problems? To begin, we need to choose a president who is considered to be “independent.” This contributes to the neutralization of partisan politics by lowering the political barrier that binds our most influential leaders. Secondly, it is imperative that we, the people, remove corrupt politicians from office and replace them with individuals who prioritize their nation before their respective contributors. Thirdly, we need to exercise control over lobbyists and the influence of “big money” among our political leaders, including the president. Would it be challenging to find a solution to these issues? There are no doubts about it. It is reasonable to anticipate a significant conflict from the major financial institutions, Wall Street, labor unions, individuals who get corporate welfare, environmentalists, companies, groups that have strong lobbyists, and a large number of politicians. In spite of this, if we as a people come together, we have the ability to “Defeat the Elite” and set our country on the path to recovery. To my knowledge, the only force that has the strength to triumph against the power of money is the power of our collective voices and votes.
