IS IT TRUE THAT A SEDUCTIVE VOICE IS MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN A BEAUTIFUL FACE?

Today, I read an essay in the field of psychology that investigated whether or not a seductive voice is more alluring than a nice face. Whether the issue I have with regard to the numbers and the research is whether or not a sexy voice is more beautiful than a person’s face; rather, I am curious about how they evaluated their conclusions. Not only did the late great Barry White have a singing voice that was extraordinarily rich and warm and sensuous, but his speaking voice was just as captivating. There is no question that women find males with a deep voice to be both appealing and attractive. This dude captivated our attention. Having said that, I do not agree with some aspects of the material that pertains to the female voice. The report said that males had a preference for women who have voices that are higher in pitch. Women who have voices that are higher in pitch are believed to be younger, and they often seem to be slimmer. Since I have been teaching voice for so many years, I have never discovered that males have a preference for women who have high-pitched voices. The exact opposite is true. Fran Drescher, Wanda Sykes, and Anna Kendrick were not chosen by the film studios to play the parts that required a seductive voice, despite the fact that they were all excellent candidates for the roles. In the film Victor/Victoria, there is a particularly memorable moment in which the attractive and seductive Lesley Ann Warren is attempting to woo James Garner. In recent times, he has shifted his affections away from Warren and placed them on Julie Andrews. It is clear from the look on his face that the high-pitched whining voice that Warren exudes is making him uncomfortable. What I have a question about the statistics that were cited in the article from psychology today is whether or not they were questioning the men about their motives. In other words, were the men judging the female voice to determine whether or not they wanted to hook up with her or whether or not they really wanted to listen to what she was saying? Let’s be honest about the motivation behind a high-pitched female voice; it may be seen as an indication of being slimmer and younger. A guy who is fifty years old and is seeking for a woman who is twenty years old is not being intelligent! The ideal appearance for him would be a face devoid of wrinkles, breasts that are firm, and legs that are free of cellulite… Well, if she does sound like a bimbo, then so be it. A female voice that is deep, rich, and resonant, on the other hand, not only sounds more seductive but also sounds much more confident. Would you suggest a certain individual to be on the board of directors of a company? What about Julia Ormond’s or Kelly Ripa’s? Yes, you are able to project a more assured tone.
