Several indicators found in the Bible indicate that a catastrophe and disaster are on the horizon, along with the imposition of martial rule and judgment on the United States of America. It may be protective to keep an eye on things, pray, and remove money. In honor of Tom Lass, a Presbyterian minister who always had a bag packed in his vehicle, this essay is dedicated to his memory. Tom Lass was prepared for events that would occur abruptly and unexpectedly in the second part of Matthew 24. 1. “The day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night, because when people say ‘Peace and safety,’ abrupt calamity arrives,” the Bible says. 1 Thessalonians 5:2 3. The United States and Iran reached a nuclear “peace and safety” accord, which is still being discussed as to what it means, after a 12-year worry and 18 months of discussion. The agreement was reached by seven countries. 2. The next day, on Passover, the traditional day of judgment, a “blood moon” which was caused by a full lunar eclipse occurred, according to Exodus 12:12. Prior to it, on the equinox of March 20th, there was a solar eclipse, which is quite unusual. According to Joel 2:31, “Before the day of the Lord, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall be turned back to blood.” Paniym, which means face or facing, is the term that is used to denote “before” (impending). 3. Christ instructed a group of people to “study a story of the fig tree” in Matthew 24. A number of days had passed since he had cast a curse on a fig tree that had an abundance of leaves but no production of fruit. Despite their arrogant promises of light and truth, the Jewish people lacked the fruits of righteousness, and this was a parable that was carried out to symbolize them. This tale is now applicable to the United States of America, a country that was formerly Christian but is now experiencing fast transformation. 4. There are bombings directed at the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), which is a “bad servant” that starts to smite his fellow slaves, according to Matthew 24. A year ago, we did not see the execution of Christians; this indication has relevance at the present time. According to Matthew 25:25, “THEN will the kingdom of heaven be like 10 virgins…” when the Bridegroom eventually arrives. As you shall see in the next paragraphs, this is not about a rapture but rather about an unseen coming in judgment. 5. Christ warned of an abomination that early Christians interpreted to be military “standing where it ought not” (Mark 13:14). As a result, when they saw the Roman army, they fled, and Titus spared them from the siege in the year 70 AD. With the intentions for the military to take control of Texas first and then the rest of the United States, this sign is in the process of being realized. http://www.allnewspipeline.com/Massive Military Convoy Heads Towards Texas.php How well prepared are we to leave the city in the event that martial rule is declared? It is possible that we may soon find ourselves in circumstances that make biblical obedience more challenging if we are not prepared to comply when the end times arrive. Warning us of a powerful force is seen in Revelation 13. The quick developments that have taken place in the United States of America indicate a need for obedience that is now affecting us. At least the first two signs listed above ought should be sufficient to anticipate difficulty. What about making a plan to spend the evening “watching and praying”? If such is the case, Christ provides defence. “If you would not watch, I will come upon you like a thief,” says the New Testament verse 3:3. We erroneously believe that “watch” is synonymous with being aware, and everyone believes that they are alert. Gregoreo is a Greek word that meaning “to be roused from sleep.” The way that Christ used it was as follows: “Watch with Me…watch and pray…” When seen in this light, if we ask that God would spare us from judgment, He is able to do so for the sake of Christ since He accepted the penalty for us. According to Exodus 12:10 and Matthew 26:38-41, the only time when watching (being awake) was prescribed was during the Passover holiday. Both the solar and lunar eclipses pointed to Passover as the most appropriate time for judgment this spring, but with a significant change. The words of Christ were, “You do not know the day or the hour.” When we hear that cliche, our minds shut down. The English word “know” originates from the Greek word “oida,” which meaning to be aware, to examine, and to comprehend. It was Christ who was explaining to his followers that they did not comprehend. There is a possibility that they were having thoughts of Passover in relation to the abrupt events that would take place in the second part of Matthew 24. A closer inspection reveals that they have the time for the second Passover! 1. “As happened during the days of Noah,” the Flood occurred at the same time as Passover, but in the second month of spring. On the tenth day, Noah, as described in Genesis 7:4-11, entered the ark. This was also the day when the Passover sacrifice was chosen, as described in Exodus 12:3. As a result of their refusal to accept Noah’s invitation, individuals chose to offer themselves as a sacrifice. Our destinies are determined by the options that God provides for us to make. 2. According to Matthew 24:43, “If the good man had known…he would have watched and would not have caused his home to be ripped up.” “The goodman is not at home, he has gone a long journey…and will return home at the day specified,” is the sole text in the Old Testament that makes mention to a goodman. This passage is included in the King James Version. According to some translations, yom kece is translated as “full moon.” This is because of a stipulation in the law that states, “If any man…be in a trip afar off, yet he must observe the passover unto the LORD the 14th day of the second month at even.” Passover occurs on a full moon, but “long journey” indicates that it is the second Passover. According to Numbers 9:10 and 11. This year, the evening of May 3-4 is the date of the second Passover. When a wicked servant (see #4 above) starts hitting his other servants, this is the third scenario. “At that time, the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to 10 virgins. There is a timetable for the second Passover in that tale, as seen in #4 below. “Watch [a hint for Passover] you don’t know [understand] because the kingdom of heaven is like a guy journeying to a foreign land,” the Bible says in verses 13 and 14. (explained in previous paragraph). The tale of the ten virgins concludes with this hint on the time of the second Passover. It was forbidden for Israelites to travel during the winter months, and if they embarked on a lengthy trip in the spring and were unable to return to Jerusalem in time for Passover, they were prohibited from traveling during the second spring month. 5. The last parable that Christ tells starts with the master going to a distant geographical location. Matt 25:14 is used. This pertains to Jesus Christ. He made the long trip to heaven, and His return because these events that precede His visible return must comply to His rule, which He said is in place “until heaven and earth pass,” as stated in Matthew 518. The second Passover The last parable describes a situation in which a servant who was sluggish lost his gift, which was money, while the slaves who were intelligent were prepared to offer their lord. How ready are we to contribute to the cause of God, when millions of others have already invested their money? In the same way that God “executed judgment” in Egypt, as described in Exodus 12:12, we are discussing an unseen coming coming in judgment. Afterwards, he announced to Israel, “I am married to you.” He had taken them to a covenant. Jer 3:14. With the phrase “all these things occurred to them for instances…ends of the world,” Paul includes the Exodus in his list of examples. 1Cor 10:1,11. This is not a story about a rapture, the wedding parables! Within the context of Passover, the Hebrew term mo’ed, which refers to appointed times as described in Genesis 1:14, encompasses the concept of wedding as described in the preceding narrative. This time period is comparable to a rehearsal. It’s a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth, and if the scheduling of this year’s event is off, we may try again the next year. At some point in the future, we anticipate the arrival of Christ. As the church and city of Laodicea in 63 AD, where He knocked, were destroyed by an earthquake, it is possible that it is an encoded earthquake. However, if we are watchful, He may show himself to us, as it is written in Luke 12:36,37. In the event that our timing is correct, readiness will be rewarded. In spite of the fact that “He will make [us] ruler over everything that He has,” we run the risk of being “beaten with stripes” if we do not make preparations. “To whom much is given […] much is expected.” Luke 12:35–48 is the passage. Since his retirement, Dr. Richard Ruhling has been concentrating his efforts on the study of Bible prophecy about the end of the world. His website, which can be found at http://TheBridegroomComes.com, as well as his books, Apocalypse 2015, which can also be found on Amazon, both provide further material.
