February 23, 2018, Monterey, California — It was revealed by the Monterey County Fair that the event that will take place from August 30th to September 3rd, 2018, would have the theme “Shake Your Tail Feathers.” In addition, the fair presented its official poster for this year’s festival, which included two chickens enjoying a trip on a Ferris wheel as well as chickens dressed in beads, masks, and hats that were related to the Mardi Gras celebration. According to Kelly Violini, the Chief Executive Officer of the Monterey County Fair, “We are really happy about the 2018 Monterey County Fair theme and dedicate it to our feathery friends at the Fair.” “We are hoping that everybody and everyone will be able to come out and participate in ‘Shaking a Tail Feather’!” Olivia Trinidad and Arnold Ramos, both of OT Graphic Design of Monterey, are the artists and graphic designers who worked together on the poster. OT Graphic Design has been providing graphic art and design services for the Monterey County Fair since 2008. They have also been responsible for creating all of the official posters published for the fair since that time. “They simply wanted it to be bright and joyful, with hens and roosters having fun at the Fair,” explains Trinidad, who has twenty years of expertise in graphic design. Trinidad is referring to the job of designing a poster. To be able to create a poster on our own is a wonderful opportunity. In most cases, we work with artwork that we have been provided, but today it was my artwork, and as a result, we were allowed to experiment with it. It was a lot of fun and quite simple.
