Monterey, California — At its site at 599 Pacific Street, the Monterey Museum of Art will be hosting a series of First Friday events beginning on May 4. These events will include a variety of artistic creations, as well as new music and carefully created beverages. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 4, from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening. It will showcase the artwork of Robin Sawyer, an artist from Carmel Valley who is part of the Currents exhibit, and Babs DuPont Hanneman, an artist from FLUX. Additionally, there will be fresh music and special cocktails that are crafted using the Frísco brand, which is an unoaked grape brandy. To enter, those who are at least 21 years old are required to make a gift of their choosing. The event is a part of the Museum’s emphasis on 2018 as the “Year of the Woman,” which includes a complete calendar of exhibits and activities with a focus on renowned female artists from California and the Central Coast. This year, the Museum unveiled two new spaces, one of which is called “Currents.” The other new room is called “Flux,” and it is devoted to California living artists.
