With most cases, one should not hold a villain in high esteem. But if I had to select only one person to look up to, it would be Lord Voldemort. In case you aren’t acquainted with the moniker, Voldemort was the primary antagonist in the Harry Potter book series. His objective throughout life was to rid the wizarding world of all muggles, or those who were not born into the wizarding or witching castes, and then to rule not only the wizarding world but also the regular world. In addition to this, he was the chief of a band of nefarious sorcerers known as the death eaters, who assisted him in completing his objective. And had it not been for the interference of this one child—Harry Potter himself—he would have been successful. It was said in a prophesy that Harry Potter has the ability to defeat Voldemort. Consequently, due to the fact that he was a villain, he attempted to assassinate him but was unsuccessful. As a result of the procedure, he was rendered powerless and required concealment (along with the death eaters) until he discovered an other method by which he might reclaim his abilities. In the fourth installment of the series, one of Voldemort’s henchmen manages to capture Harry Potter and take him to a cemetery. There, the henchman uses Harry’s blood and many other artifacts to bring Voldemort back to his former glory. Not long after that, he called upon the death eaters to finally meet them after a gap of thirty arduous years. It continues to astound me that Voldemort’s Death Eaters have maintained their allegiance to him after all these years. Whether or whether it was genuine devotion or allegiance based on fear is a whole separate topic, but the unwavering commitment is striking nonetheless. This gets me to the point I want to make today, which is this: be the Voldemort of your business. People that are on the same page as you and your company’s goals will get on board and stay with you until the very end if you run a company that has an enormous, intense purpose and are prepared to do everything to accomplish it.
