However, when I first learned about green smoothies in the early 1990s, I thought they sounded absurd. How could someone add sugar to a drink that included just vegetables? And why would anybody take a sip of something that seems to be milk combined with spinach? However, a lot of what we believed to be true at the time concerning nutrition was incorrect. It was common knowledge to consume a lot of fat. Consume a lot of protein. Consume a lot of carbohydrates. Consume a lot of cholesterol. Consume a lot of salt. Consume a lot of sweets. Consume a lot of anything. Consume a lot of fruit but not as much veggies. Consume a lot of veggies and little fruit. In the present day, a green smoothie helps strengthen your immune system and promote overall wellness. Fruits and vegetables that are organic are used to make green smoothies. The fruits used to make it are high in water content and packed with essential nutrients, particularly vitamin C, which is the primary natural detoxifying agent.
