No other nation has assimilated all that has occurred to it and erased nothing while enduring a history that is so complex. To name a few of the individuals who have shaped India’s inheritance, the Mauryas, Ashokas, Pahlavas, Guptas, Chalykyas, Hoysalas, Pandas, Cholas, Moguls, and British left behind an incredibly rich pattern that even the complex histories of European states have failed to match. The warrior traits described in scriptures and in historical narratives of past and present Indian conflicts align with the Indian style of waging wars. Indian culture is typified by the valor, steadfastness, selflessness, inventiveness, and bravery shown by the people in all battles throughout all eras. These traits are influenced by the scriptures and are further enhanced by genetic development. The question that actually needs to be answered is why, in spite of all of these characteristics and history, no Indian style of warfare has ever been imagined. Academic research on the Indian style of warfare has not yet been thoroughly investigated by researchers. While soldiers have been extolled, historical accounts of events have sometimes been provided without explanation or critical evaluation. The seminar proceedings on Indian way of war fighting way ahead provide an overview of the subject’s examination and discussion among intellectuals. The work is available as a book, an e-book, and a CD-ROM from Vij Books India Pvt Ltd, Delhi. Vijbooks.com
