The introduction of a new asbestos safety campaign by the health and safety executive will be of interest to a significant number of organizations and people who are considering doing asbestos assessments in Birmingham, Yorkshire, Newcastle, or any other location in the UK (hse). The fact that Stuart Pearce, a former Nottingham Forest footballer and manager as well as an all-around football hero, is supporting the campaign is a particularly intriguing aspect of it. Pearce has disclosed that he may have inhaled the lethal substance during his four years working as a part-time electrician in the early 1980s. During his early days as a football player, the former Newcastle United player worked in the profession. He said that there was a serious potential that he may get a deadly sickness associated to asbestos in the future. He asked those who worked in trades to educate themselves about the potentially fatal fiber and to take appropriate precautions to protect themselves. This is what the 52-year-old stated: “It is unsettling to consider the possibility that I may have been exposed to it without being aware of it; at the time, we were just unaware of the dangers that existed. Although the majority of people are aware of the dangers posed by asbestos, many individuals believe that it is no longer a major concern in today’s society. In spite of everything, it is still present.” The famous football legend, who began his career at Wealdstone and went on to play for Coventry City, West Ham United, and Manchester City, claimed that the substance was still present in the walls, ceilings, floor tiles, and gutters of many buildings that were constructed before to the year 2000. Pearce went on to say that it “really could mean the difference between life and death” for people to educate themselves about the locations where asbestos can be found and the methods that can be used to safely deal with it, even when performing tasks as fundamental as drilling holes, sanding, and cracking that are found on roofs. Through his research, he came to the conclusion that “it may be so simple to breathe in this lethal dust, and it may be years before you realize that you’ve been impacted.” A significant portion of the fiber that was formerly utilized for the purpose of insulating buildings has not been eliminated, which raises the possibility that in the event that it is disturbed, it could be inhaled and cause severe lung disease, which is frequently fatal, due to asbestos exposure fear dangerously. According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), the number of fatalities that may be attributable to asbestos, which is 5,000 each year, is larger than the number of persons who are killed on the roads. This serves as yet another illustration of how important it is for businesses to take the appropriate preventative measures by arranging the appropriate asbestos assessments in Birmingham, Teesside, Sunderland, or any other location in the United Kingdom where they have their headquarters.
