As the saying goes, “The path to hell is paved with good intentions.” — Anon. When I arrived to Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama on Friday, August 21, 2015, what followed was a flurry of personal pronouns and the now-familiar tale of the transformation of a government institution into a luxurious hotel. It is estimated that Trump used the pronouns “I,” “me,” and “my” over 300 times throughout his address; yet, he did not provide anything particularly novel or different from his past remarks. After criticizing China, Mexico, Democrats, and a significant number of Republicans, the remainder of the speech took the form of a rally for the road to riches, which was led by a financial guru who made a genuine promise that everyone will become wealthy and prosperous if they only follow the plan – and the leader. The audience roared wildly in response to the promise of a powerful resurrection of military force, as well as the campaign slogan and vow to “Make America Great Again,” which was repeated several times. This is the point at which I am compelled to begin with a paragraph from my most recent piece; it is a declaration that I will certainly be required to make for the next year and a half, until the election season is over. Our morals and our economics are intricately interwoven for all of eternity, and God never separates them from one another. We have reached an all-time low in terms of morals, and concurrently, there will be a fall in the economy — you can bet on an economic crash! If we were to define greatness, what would it be? – Is there a definition that God has? I would want to begin with a text that is applicable to both people and countries, and then we will go from there. As the saying goes, “For what is a man to gain if he should win the entire world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man offer in return for his soul?” Matthew 16:26 Increasing money and creating employment would be all that would be required to make the United States of America “great” once again. If I were to vote for Donald Trump, I would be the first person to do so. The things that are at the bottom of the list for republicans who are running for president are the things that are not on the list of any Democrat who is running for president. Both of the problems that Trump refuses to address are at the very top of God’s list of priorities for the nation’s continued existence in the future. God will never criticize our country because of a poor relationship with China or Mexico. He will also not cause our economy to collapse because of oil, jobs that are outsourced, taxes, or any other difficulties, whether they are imagined or real. Because of our persistence on the warped concept of “gay marriage” and our continued participation in the death of unborn kids, we will eventually reach a point of reckoning that we will all regret. On these concerns, Trump has avoided and avoided dealing with them. Donald, what is the greatest that you have to offer? When it comes to these concerns, Trump has not provided any more than either Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Regarding abortion, President Trump has said that he would put an end to the practice after twenty weeks of pregnancy. Absolutely not up to par, Donald! This divine order was in place before you took your first breath, and the artificial assignment of time boundaries for when an abortion may legally or ethically be conducted is not yours to determine. It is still murder or genocide regardless of whether it is one day or twenty weeks along in the pregnancy. With regard to the issue of “gay marriage,” Trump has submitted himself to the “it’s the law of the land” gibberish that all people who have given up ultimately succumb to. The judgment in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges is what may be reasonably referred to as the last straw in God’s tolerance with the citizens of the United States. That which comes after such a verdict is not greatness; rather, it is just judgment and a protracted and severe sequence of national challenges, which are collectively referred to as judgments; this is true regardless of the slogans used in the campaign. It is one hundred times more probable that the United States of America will be experiencing a decline in economic conditions than that of a bonanza for everyone headed by Trump. Even if the country is becoming a playground for perverts and a murder capital for unborn human beings, the borders of the United States of America are secured, the military is large, and the economy is growing under the administration of Donald President Trump. This is an example of naiveté and stupidity all wrapped into one, and to borrow one of Trump’s favorite terms that he often uses, it is dumb. It is not necessary for us to have a degree in divinity in order to comprehend the fundamental theology of the biblical ordinance of reciprocity. (Reap and plant it) The Trumpian vision of America is a complete and utter impossibility, and one that God will not let to come to pass. At what point does a straightforward rebuke from the Bible transform into a prophetic warning? The United States of America is now experiencing a convergence of two key conditions: the first is our economic power, and the second is our moral decay. Whether we are at the pinnacle or the pinnacle of both, it is impossible for them to coexist for an extended period of time. There is no way that God will let that! There is a law that applies to both people and countries, and it is as follows: “And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast great things stored up for many years; take thy rest, eat, drink, and be happy.” On the other hand, God addressed him and said, “You idiot, this night your soul will be asked of you; then whose will those goods be, which you have provided?” 19–20 of Luke’s Gospel I offer this with a strong feeling of urgency and certainty that the very soul of our country is going to be demanded — the options are for the time – and it is yet up to us to decide what to do. Very little time remains. It is possible for Mr. Trump to make a pledge of “greatness,” but if he does not address these two concerns, his promise will be as insignificant as a cloud of dust.
