The use of words such as euphemisms, synonyms that are not offensive, bureaucratic jargon that is boring, and political correctness are all examples of ways that the people might be socially manipulated into inactivity. Con artists that operate on the international stage are fond of utilizing terminology because they are aware that they may conceal their true intentions by using phrases that are difficult to understand. In today’s world, we are confronted with a multitude of perplexing euphemisms that are used in an attempt to transform a genuine reason for worry, such as a crisis, into a non-issue. As Edward Snowden disclosed in a startling revelation a few years ago, the conduct of eavesdropping on civilians has become a common practice used by authorities in the United States of America and other western world allies. The recent publication of a report on the actions of the General Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) by the intelligence and security committee of the United Kingdom provides confirmation that the communications and virtual footprints of millions of individuals are being monitored and stored away. As a direct result of this, the term “Mass Surveillance” has been replaced by “Bulk Collection.” The authorities continue to argue that the information was gathered only for the purpose of storage. On the other hand, it has been argued that this is deceptive due to the fact that the authorities have the option to utilize the information provided on civilians, and they are not accountable for their actions. The invasion of privacy and the language that is purposefully twisted has resulted in the accumulation of a significant repertory. A bill that was recently introduced by the Senate Intelligence Committee of the United States of America and given the name “cyber security information sharing act” has been subject to criticism for the possibility that it would enable corporations to spy on internet users and then report their activities to the National Security Agency (NSA) (National Security Agency US government). Over time, the vocabulary of euphemisms has expanded to include words linked with the military. However, when it comes to captives in the United States, the term “torture” is more often referred to as “Enhanced Interrogation.” “Abducting and moving a suspected terrorist” has now become the rather ambiguous term “extraordinary renditions.” On the other hand, there is the one in which it has been said that the “bombing of particular nations” has shifted to “promoting western democracy.” What this really meant was that adjustments were made to the system with the purpose of enabling the United States of America to expand their dominance… Then there is the fact that in environmental jargon, “wasteland” is synonymous with “landfill,” or, as the late George Carlin put it, “nuclear measurement” at the Pentagon is synonymous with “sunshine units!” – The use of ‘word games’ as a deceptive method to spin disagreeable conditions is yet another strategy that is employed to limit human freedom. This approach is based on Orwellian euphemisms. Those who are aware of the situation and have a grasp of the hidden agendas are obligated to notify others. In order to preserve the true meaning, it is important to clarify the meaning of euphemisms wherever possible.
