The Fremskrittspartiet (FrP) entered the administration with the intention of bringing about a great deal of change. Due to this, a great number of people experience feelings of disappointment and betrayal, and regrettably, smokers also have every right to feel this way. The prohibition on electronic cigarettes is referred to as a “whistle ban” by the Federal Republic of Germany (FRP), although it does not seem that the FRP is taking any specific actions to eliminate or modify this prohibition. Allowing the use of the Segway, which is one of the primary goals of the FrP in parliament, would probably be less beneficial to public health and general welfare than the removal of this restriction, which would give a higher advantage to both. It is not a move that would be of great assistance to “ordinary people” to permit the use of the Segway, given the cost of purchasing one of these is prohibitive for most people. However, there is a certain amount of charm about it. Equally as enjoyable is the fact that smoking is harmful to both society and the individual. This is not even taking into account the fact that smokers’ family and friends may also be affected by the negative effects and worries associated with smoking. It has been said by a number of prominent politicians affiliated with the Fremskrittsparteit that the ban on electronic cigarettes and licorice pipes is absurd and ought to be removed. As an example, the Head of the Standing Committee on Health and Care Services is of the opinion that the prohibition on electronic cigarettes is not acceptable for the sake of public health. It is possible that electronic cigarettes are helping to lessen the negative consequences of nicotine usage; yet, it seems that the Norwegian politicians who are involved in this significant topic have chosen to remain neutral. We are now in a position where smoking is forbidden in many areas, and it seems that more and more locations are being covered by such restrictions. The struggle against smoking and smoking has been going on for a very long time, and we are now in this situation. Although this is the case, the percentage of the Norwegian population that smokes regular cigarettes on a daily basis is still slightly below twenty percent. Although the numbers are not much different in other parts of Europe, the objective is quite clear: the number of people who smoke should be decreased even more. They call it “Vision Zero.” There is a global rise in the number of people who smoke cigarettes on a regular basis, and one of the continents that contributes to this trend is Africa. This might be the reason why the tobacco industry has not responded. In light of this, the situation is not particularly dire for the tobacco business at the moment; nevertheless, it is more dire for the conventional tobacco merchants in Europe and for those who are interested in entering this market. These days, there are other instances when the enhancement of public health serves as a driving force. That the various measures taken against smoking have had an effect, there is little doubt about that. Advertising bans and bans on the use of different places have probably been strong contributors to this effect, and the same has probably been the case with the following “stigma” of smoking and smokers. In the meanwhile, we have also seen what some people refer to as a boom in the use of smokeless tobacco among young people, particularly in Norway and Scandinavia, where the regulation of tobacco and nicotine products is comprehensive and continues to be strong. It is possible that snuff seems to be a more sanitary alternative to cigarettes, and this may appeal to the younger generation of today, even if it most likely does not satisfy any demand for cleanliness. Regardless, the use of snuff significantly reduces the amount of harm that nicotine may do to the lungs, but it is possible that the same cannot be true for the oral cavity. This may give the impression that “stimulants” of the tobacco or nicotine kind are appealing to the general public for usage. In this equation, it is feasible that tobacco and nicotine might be substituted by other drugs. This is due to the fact that there is a widespread desire among the populace to “use anything.” Possibly this is particularly true among younger folks. It seems that the most essential thing that can be done in the framework of public health is to provide more harmless methods of using nicotine. This is true regardless of the solution that may be provided. It is important to note that snuff is only one example of this; nevertheless, we should not stop here since nicotine may be absorbed in even less hazardous ways, such as by chewing gum. There is a possibility that electronic cigarettes that include nicotine are found to be less hazardous than chewing gums that contain nicotine. It’s possible that electronic cigarettes have a lower risk of health risks than traditional soda. On the other hand, we do not yet know. The World Health Organization (WHO) is of the view that electronic cigarettes are far less hazardous than traditional cigarettes. This is something that we almost probably already know. And their requirements are stringent; to use soda as an example once more, it is not certain that soft drinks would have been permitted on the market if they were to be evaluated in the same manner that the World Health Organization and the authorities in charge of the government consider electronic cigarettes. The sale of ordinary cigarettes and rolling tobacco should be prohibited from a “social-medical” standpoint; nevertheless, the sale of other nicotine products should be permitted. This is particularly true in light of the fact that electronic cigarettes are now available as an alternative. When it comes to “smoke,” it may be intriguing, and today it is completely safe. With regard to a significant number of smokers, the prohibition of ordinary cigarettes could be a fairly controversial attitude to take; yet, a significant number of smokers are interested in quitting the habit, and this might be of assistance to them. Without making any comparisons, we go from horses to vehicles when it comes to transportation, and it ought to be feasible to transition from smoking to steaming (vaping) when it comes to the consumption of nicotine via the respiratory organs, which are the lungs. Many people still want to have both nicotine and clouds of “smoke,” despite the fact that smoking traditional cigarettes is no longer acceptable because we know too much about the injuries that can be caused by them. Considering this, it is strange to see that electronic cigarettes are not included in the ongoing discussion. This was FrP’s commitment. In the context of this discussion, the Norwegian press and interest groups are neither large nor powerful; yet, electronic cigarettes represent a component of what is taking place, and it is peculiar that no health legislators have taken this issue up to any considerable degree. Or maybe it is not as unusual as it seems; this might be the “licorice pipe effect,” which is a phenomenon that is similar to smoking and should be avoided at all costs (In Norway it is allowed to sell licorice pipes, but not to display them or advertise for them).
