Gulftainer’s recent efforts to increase its recycling efficiency have been rewarded, as senior management welcomed a delegation from Bee’ah. The delegation presented a certificate to recognize the Company’s ongoing commitment to improving the environment. Gulftainer’s efforts to increase recycling efficiency have been received with praise. Their team, which includes Saif Abdulla Al Sharif, Director of the Recycle Business & Collection, Muhammad Musa, and Hasim Kathiri, met with Gulftainer’s Group Managing Director, Peter Richards, Group Director of Business Services, Ramesh Shivakumaran, and Group QHSE Manager, Magimairaj Bose, in order to present the award and discuss further initiatives. Bee’ah is the largest waste management company in the Middle East and has won multiple awards. Additionally, Bee’ah is based in Sharjah. To highlight just a few of the activities that are now in place inside the Gulftainer workplace, some of the programs include recycling paper, plastic, and electronic waste in the offices, as well as recycling lubricants, batteries, and tires in the engineering departments. Every single one of the company’s garbage is no longer sent to landfills for disposal today. “We are happy to take this award from Bee’ah and to be actively engaged in creating the Emirate of Sharjah a greener environment,” said Peter Richards, the Group Managing Director of Gulftainer “We are delighted to accept this certificate from Bee’ah.” Within our organization, we are of the opinion that it is our duty to set an example for others to follow and to continue to raise awareness about the need of implementing the three R’s (reduce, reuse, and recycle) in the workplace and beyond. “We hope that these activities will bring attention to how simple it is to make a difference in the world.”
